I worked from left to right, the way one writes. I started with a French town on a river from a travel book. On the right the town began to diminish, into the suburbs and then new development starts. So I did very modern buildings, an international style of architecture with a show of affluence. It needed a little extra, so it occurred to me, a line of migrating birds, utilizing the sky without filling it up.
